Base Mile Earnings
Base miles are credited toward your OnePass account and can be used for OnePass rewards.
Effective for travel on or after Jan. 1, 2009, OnePass members will earn the actual miles flown rather than a minimum of 500 miles per flight for tickets purchased on or after Nov. 15, 2008. OnePass Elite members are exempt from this change. Continental flight mileage and points are earned on the mileage between your origin and final destination, as shown on your ticket. On connecting flights that require a change of plane and flight number, credit is given for each segment of the trip. A segment is defined as all travel under a single flight number.
See the chart below for details on how you earn OnePass credit for reward travel and Elite qualification based on fare class for flights operated by Continental, Continental Express, Continental Micronesia and Continental Connection.

"No Middle Seat" Guarantee
To ensure a comfortable flight, we'll guarantee that you receive a window or aisle seat in Economy Class when you purchase a full fare on Continental Airlines- and Continental Micronesia-operated flights. We're so committed to this guarantee; we'll automatically reward our OnePass members with 2,500 OnePass miles if they do sit in a middle seat.
OnePass members traveling on non-discounted domestic fare basis codes starting with F/D/Y and ticketed in F/D/Y classes of service and non-discounted international fare basis codes starting with J/D/C/Z/F/Y and ticketed in J/D/C/Z/F/Y classes of service qualify for the "No Middle Seat" Guarantee. If Continental is unable to provide a window or aisle Economy seat, member may receive 2,500 bonus miles. A maximum of 2,500 bonus miles may be earned per one-way flight itinerary. This offer is subject to change without notice.
Flights Ineligible for Mileage Credit
OnePass mileage may not be earned on certain Continental Airlines and other OnePass airline partner tickets. These include, but are not limited to:
- Continental tickets purchased and used in violation of Continental's Contract of Carriage, fare tariffs and OnePass Program.
- All free travel, including OnePass reward travel.
- Unpublished charter flights.
- Industry-free or industry-reduced rate tickets.
- Promotional certificates.
- Unpublished fares, such as priceline.com and Hotwire.
- Tickets, products or services purchased and used in violation of the terms and conditions applicable to Continental's OnePass partners.
Continental Airlines reserves the right to exclude certain fares, programs and routes from earning OnePass credit.
Keep Your Travel Documents
For your own protection, keep your travel documents — eTicket receipt and your original boarding passes, car rental agreements and hotel receipts — until the mileage credit appears on your OnePass statement. It's the way to ensure you receive the credit you deserve.
Missing Mileage Credit
All requests for missing mileage credit need to be made within six months of activity. To request credit for Continental flights, complete our Mileage Credit Request form.
Mileage Credit for Cancelled Flights
When you are ticketed in advance and your flight is cancelled on the day of departure, we may re-accommodate you on another flight. If you are re-accommodated on Continental Airlines or a OnePass airline partner, you will receive mileage credit for the new flight(s) only.
If you are involuntarily re-accommodated on a non-OnePass airline partner flight, you may request mileage credit for your original flight itinerary. Send a written request for mileage credit to the OnePass Service Center. Explain the circumstances of the flight, and include a copy of your original passenger receipt as well as the boarding pass from the flight flown.
Exceptions include flights cancelled by uncontrollable circumstances (e.g., work stoppage or weather). In these situations members will not earn miles.
