Will I be invited if I am not a Platinum Elite member but spend enough to qualify for Presidential Platinum Elite status?
No. To keep this program exclusive, our Presidential Platinum Elite level requires you to both earn Platinum Elite status and spend the minimum threshold required for a Presidential Platinum invitation.
How will I be able to track my eligible revenue toward earning Presidential Platinum Elite status?
Platinum Elite members will be able to track their eligible spending at continental.com on the My Account page, starting September 2010.
Will my travel on Copa Airlines and Aero República count toward earning Presidential Platinum Elite status?
Not at this time. We do, however, plan to include these partners in the future and will provide these details at a later date.
Once I have qualified for Presidential Platinum Elite status, how long will it take for my benefits begin?
Presidential Platinum Elite benefits and credential will be available in September 2010.
What upgrade advantages will Presidential Platinum Elite members have when traveling on Continental?
Presidential Platinum Elite members will have the highest upgrade priority when traveling on eligible Continental and Continental Micronesia flights, and will be upgraded starting at 144 hours (approximately 6 days) before departure, subject to availability.
What upgrade advantages will Presidential Platinum Elite members have when traveling on United?
When our reciprocal upgrade program with United takes effect, Presidential Platinum Elite members will be prioritized behind United’s Global Services and 1K Elite members, but ahead of their Premier Executive Elite members when traveling on eligible United flights. This benefit will be available later in 2010.
What upgrade advantages will Presidential Platinum members have when traveling on Copa?
At this time, Presidential Platinum Elite members will be prioritized with Platinum Elite members when traveling on Copa.
How will the dedicated VIP services desk for Presidential Platinum members be different from the OnePass Elite desk?
The dedicated VIP desk will be for the exclusive use of our Presidential Platinum Elite members and will be staffed with representatives that are specially-trained to handle your unique travel needs. Members will be given phone numbers to access this desk from anywhere in the world.
If I earn Presidential Platinum Elite Status and I am already a Continental Airlines Presidential PlusSM Cardmember, will I get a refund for my annual fee?
Yes. Once you are invited to become a Presidential Platinum Elite member, your current-year Presidential Plus annual fee will be prorated and refunded automatically.
If I am already a Presidents Club member and I take advantage of the Presidential Plus credit card benefit, will I receive a refund for any membership dues I have paid?
Yes. Once you have been approved for the Presidential Plus credit card, your remaining Presidents Club membership fees will be prorated and refunded automatically. These refunds, however, do not apply to lifetime memberships.
What if I am not interested or do not qualify for Continental Airlines Presidential Plus World MasterCard benefit?
The annual fee waiver credit card benefit for Presidential Platinum members is optional for members of the mainland U.S. and Alaska, and there are no substitutions if you do not or are not able to take advantage of it. You will, however, have the option to purchase a Presidents Club membership at a discounted annual rate of $250 with the initiation fee waived.
Why don’t members residing in Hawaii, Guam and points outside the U.S. have an option for the annual fee waiver Presidential Plus Card benefit?
The Presidential Plus Card is only offered to residents of the mainland U.S. and Alaska, therefore we are only able to offer this benefit to these customers. As an alternative, customers residing in Hawaii, Guam and points outside the U.S. will automatically receive 25,000 OnePass bonus miles in place of this offer.
Is it possible to earn lifetime Presidential Platinum Elite Status?
Yes. If you earn at least four million Lifetime Flight Miles (Elite Qualification Miles), you and your spouse or significant other will be granted Presidential Platinum Elite status for life.
