How to Enter: Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01AM Central Time ("CT") on July 1, 2009 and ends at 11:59:59PM CT on Aug. 31, 2009 ("Promotion Period"). 1) Automatically receive (1) entry for each Continental Airlines travel purchase made during the Promotion Period at continental.com using a MasterCard card. Offline purchases, account adjustment transactions/returns and PIN-based and international transactions are not considered eligible transactions for automatic Sweepstakes entry. Entries from unauthorized card use or made with lost, stolen, or fraudulent MasterCard cards are void. Only purchases made with a MasterCard card that is in good standing (both at time of entry and winner selection) and issued by a MasterCard customer financial institution in the U.S. to an identifiable end user and that are processed and submitted through Continental Airlines' U.S. transaction processing system during the Promotion Period are eligible for automatic entry; or 2) To enter the Sweepstakes without making a purchase and receive (1) Sweepstakes entry, hand print your name, complete mailing address, telephone number, date of birth, the first six (6) digits of your MasterCard account number and the words "MasterCard 2009 MLB® World Series® Sweepstakes with Continental Airlines" on a plain 3" x 5" piece of paper and mail it in a sealed, stamped and hand-printed #10 envelope to: MasterCard 2009 MLB® World Series® Sweepstakes with Continental Airlines, P.O. Your use of your MasterCard card to make a purchase and/or your submission of a 3" x 5" mail-in entry constitutes your consent to participate in this Sweepstakes and your consent for Released Parties to obtain, use and transfer your name, address and other information for the purpose of administering this Sweepstakes. (1) Grand Prize: A 3-day/2-night trip for winner and one (1) guest to a 2009 MLB® World Series® game designated by Sponsor consisting of round-trip Economy Class air transportation on Continental Airlines from major U.S. airport nearest winner's residence served by Continental, one (1) standard double-occupancy hotel accommodation, ground transportation to/from the airport and the applicable hotel, two (2) tickets to the designated game, view MLB® batting practice on a date, time, and for a duration to be designated by Sponsor and a $600 MasterCard Gift Card which may be used toward spending money (Approximate Retail Value "ARV"=$10,000). Actual value of prize will vary depending on winner's city of departure and final flight itinerary. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to provide ground transportation in lieu of air transportation. Trip must be taken on date(s) specified by Sponsor or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected. Travel and hotel accommodation restrictions apply. Winner and guest must travel on the same itinerary and must be 18 years or older. Major League Baseball game, exhibition and event dates and times are determined in the sole discretion of the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball and/or Major League Baseball Properties, Inc., as applicable and are subject to change. Winner and guest agree to comply with all applicable stadium regulations in connection with the prize. Sponsor and the applicable MLB Entities reserve the right to remove or to deny entry to winner and/or his/her guest who engage(s) in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person at the game, event or exhibition. Released Parties will not be responsible for Acts of God, acts of terrorism, civil disturbances, work stoppage or any other natural disaster outside their control that may cause the cancellation or postponement of any Major League Baseball game, event or exhibition. MasterCard Gift Card restrictions may apply. Prize details not specifically set forth herein are at Sponsor's sole discretion. Winner and guest responsible for meals, insurance, incidentals, upgrades, gratuities, ground transportation other than per above, miscellaneous travel expenses including, but not limited to, airline luggage charges and for all other expenses not specifically stated herein. Federal, state and local taxes and all other expenses not specified herein are winner's sole responsibility. Prize is provided by Sponsor.
Winner Selection: Winner will be selected in a random drawing on or about Sept. 15, 2009 from among all eligible entries received by P/S/T, an independent judging organization whose decisions will be final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Winner will be notified by P/S/T by telephone, email and/or mail, at Sponsor's discretion. The first randomly selected potential Grand Prize winner that answers a telephone call placed by P/S/T notifying him/her of his/her potential winning status will be declared the Grand Prize winner, subject to verification of eligibility and the terms of these Official Rules. Messages will not be left on answering machines or with live persons. In the event that the potential winner is selected via a MasterCard card transaction, prize will be awarded to the primary account holder (as determined by the MasterCard customer financial institution's account records and subject to said financial institution's timely identification of the account holder) named on the account accessed by the MasterCard card used to make the entry, and in the event that a corporate MasterCard card winning account is selected, prize will be awarded to the individual named on the MasterCard card that is used to transact the winning entry (as determined by the MasterCard customer financial institution's account records and subject to said financial institution's timely identification of the individual named on the applicable MasterCard card). If the awarding of prize is in conflict with corporate written policy or not feasible after Sponsor's good faith effort to obtain account holder contact information from the applicable MasterCard customer financial institution, prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected. Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Miscellaneous: No transfer, assignment, cash redemption, or substitution of prize (or portion thereof) except by Sponsor at its sole discretion due to prize unavailability or causes otherwise determined solely by Sponsor, and then for a prize (or applicable portion thereof) of equal or greater value. Grand Prize winner will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release and (where legal) Publicity Release within three (3) days of issuance of notification. Grand Prize guest (if considered minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, his/her respective parent or legal guardian) will be required to sign and return a notarized Liability Release and (where legal) Publicity Release prior to the issuance of prize documents. Non-compliance with any of the foregoing may result in disqualification and awarding of prize to an alternate winner as determined by Sponsor. If prize notification letter or prize is returned as undeliverable, winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and agree that: 1) Released Parties and their designees and assigns shall have the right and permission to use (unless prohibited by law) their name, voice, city/state of residence, biographical information, photograph, and/or likeness for advertising and/or trade and/or any other purpose in any media or format, online or offline, now or hereafter known without further compensation, permission, or notification; and 2) Released Parties and their designees and assigns and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives and agents shall have no liability and will be held harmless for any liability, loss, injury or death to entrant or any other person, including, without limitation, damage to personal or real property, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of prize (including any travel or prize activity related thereto) or participation in this Sweepstakes. Sponsor can disqualify any entry and modify, terminate, or suspend Sweepstakes should virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, actions of entrants, or other causes beyond Sponsor's reasonable control corrupt or impair Sweepstakes administration, security, fairness or proper play and, if Sweepstakes is modified, terminated or suspended, select winner from those eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to event requiring such modification, termination, or suspension.
