Weather Summary
As of 21:21 Central, Sat., 7 Nov., 2009
South - mostly sunny skies from the lower-Mississippi Valley to the Carolinas. A gradient between this high and lower pressure associated with Ida in the northwest Caribbean will keep much of Florida and the Gulf of Mexico quite windy. An upper-level disturbance ejecting out of northern Mexico will help pull moisture out of the Gulf of Mexico northward. As a result, showers and thunderstorms will develop from southern Texas eastward to southern Louisiana Sunday.
West- An onshore flow will continue to stream moisture into the Pacific Northwest Sunday. Though not nearly as heavy as on Saturday, rain and mountain snow will impact northwest Oregon and western Washington. Heavier rain and mountain snow will target locations from far Northern California to Washington with a cold front Monday.
Northeast - High pressure will stay in control right through Monday. Mostly sunny skies will be accompanied by temperatures rising above average by 5 to 15 degrees.
Midwest - Temperatures in the 60s and 70s are expected from Kansas and eastern Nebraska to the Ohio Valley and southern Great Lakes. Much of the Dakotas, Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and northern Michigan will be in the cooler 50s. North of a stalling but mainly dry front, a few showers may gradually develop Sunday into Sunday night over the Upper Midwest and northern Great Lakes.
