Increased Security Measures at the Airport
Continental is committed to providing safe and reliable air transportation for travelers. Please be advised that the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security has determined there is a need for additional restrictions to assure the security of air travel.
Changes to itinerary:
Passengers who have been ticketed for travel between now and September 1, 2006, to/from BHX, BRS, EDI, GLA, LGW, and MAN may make one change to their travel dates or itinerary with the change fee waived. Travelers who wish to change or cancel their flight must do so prior to the flight's scheduled departure time.
For all flights to, from, and within the United States:
On instruction from the Transportation Security Administration, Continental Airlines advises travelers that no liquids or gels are permitted inside the sterile area through the security checkpoint, in carry-on baggage or onboard the aircraft. Some exceptions apply.*
For all flights departing from the United Kingdom:
Continental Airlines advises travelers that carry-on baggage is not allowed onboard any aircraft departing any UK airport with few exceptions*. Continental will waive excess baggage charges on these flights.
All passengers are advised to travel light. Passengers should check-in as normal, but should expect longer processing times at the airport. Continental Airlines will strictly adhere to all travel security restrictions imposed by the U.S. and UK governments and regrets any inconveniences caused.
