Continental Airlines to Resume Second Daily New York/Newark-Tel Aviv Service

NEW YORK, Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) announced today that it will resume its second daily Boeing 777 non-stop service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Tel Aviv, Israel effective March 31, 2004 (eastbound).

The second daily flight to Tel Aviv, CO84, will depart New York/Newark daily at 3:30 p.m., arriving in Tel Aviv at 9:15 a.m. the following day. The return flight, CO85, will depart Tel Aviv at 11:15 a.m. and arrive in New York/Newark at 4:15 p.m. the same day. The flight time is approximately 10 hours 45 minutes eastbound and 12 hours westbound.

Continental suspended the operation of the second daily service on the route in November 2000.

"We are delighted that strengthening customer demand on the New York-Tel Aviv route is enabling us to restart the second daily service," said Jim Summerford, Continental's Vice President International. "Since we started service to Israel in 1999 we have been the first choice for travelers on the route, despite the fluctuations in overall market demand, and this doubling of capacity reflects the popularity of our product."

The existing daily New York/Newark-Tel Aviv flight, CO90, departs New York/Newark daily at 10:50 p.m., arriving in Tel Aviv at 4:05 p.m. the following day. The return flight, CO91, departs Tel Aviv daily at 11:30 p.m., arriving at New York/Newark at 4:45 a.m. the following day.
