Continental Express Announces Non-Stop Flights to Cleveland and Houston From Dallas Love Field
DALLAS, May 19, 1998 -- Continental Express, the regional airline subsidiary of Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAI.A and CAI.B), today announced it will begin flying seven daily roundtrips from Dallas Love Field Airport to George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston on June 11 and three daily roundtrips between Dallas Love Field and Cleveland on July 1.
Flights from Dallas Love Field will connect to more than 130 Continental Airlines' domestic and international destinations, including nonstop service to Europe, Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Pacific.
This new service complements Continental Airlines' 12 daily departures to Houston, five to Newark and two to Cleveland from Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport.
"Continental Express is pleased to be offering residents of Dallas additional connecting service to the world," said Gordon Bethune, Continental Airlines chairman and chief executive officer at a press conference held today at Dallas Love Field Airport.
This will mark the first time Continental Express, headquartered in Houston, has operated from Dallas Love Field, where it maintains two gates.
Continental Express will operate the newest member of its fleet, the fast and quiet 50-passenger Embraer ERJ-145 regional jet, dubbed the ExpressJet.
Continental Express serves more than four million customers annually. As a regional air carrier owned by Continental Airlines, Express offers more than 800 daily departures from its hubs in Houston, Newark and Cleveland. Continental Express offers advance seat assignments and OnePass frequent flyer miles which can be redeemed anywhere in the world Continental and its partner airlines fly.
