Continental Announces Service From Houston to Reno/Tahoe; Continental Express to Start Greenville-Spartanburg Flights

HOUSTON, July 27, 1998 -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAI.B and CAI.A) announced daily non-stop service from Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston (IAH) to Reno/Tahoe International Airport (RNO) effective Dec. 15, 1998. Separately, Continental Express announced twice daily non-stop service to Greenville-Spartanburg Airport (GSP) effective October 1, 1998.

The new daily service from Houston to Reno/Tahoe will depart at 8:30 p.m. and arrive at 10:33 p.m. The return flight will depart Reno/Tahoe at 1:30 a.m. and arrive in Houston at 6:54 a.m. Continental will fly a Boeing 737-300 aircraft on the route, with 10 first class and 118 economy class seats.

New Continental Express service to Greenville-Spartanburg will depart Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston at 1:30 p.m. and 6:55 and arrive at Greenville-Spartanburg Airport at 4:50 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., respectively. Flights from Greenville-Spartanburg will leave at 7:15 a.m. and 3:55 p.m., arriving in Houston at 8:50 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Continental Express will use the new 50-passenger regional jet, ExpressJet, on these flights.

In Houston, where Continental has a large hub with 504 daily departures, the new flights will connect with service to cities the United States and Latin America.
