Continental Airlines Opens New Presidents Club Lounges in Houston and Washington, D.C.

HOUSTON, August 14, 1998 -- Continental Airlines, which has been expanding its airport lounges to accommodate more and more business travelers, recently opened two new Presidents Club lounges in Houston and Washington, D.C.

At Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Continental opened a third clubroom located on the south side of Terminal C near Gate 33. The 10,000 square-foot Presidents Club has shower facilities, expanded work stations, and a Houston performing arts theme bar.

At Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, in what is now considered the historical part of the airport, Continental has opened a 4,000-square foot 1940s-style Presidents Club in Terminal B above Gate 11. To preserve the vintage look, Continental consulted with the local Historical Society and used furnishings and airline photographs from the 40s.

The two new lounges have copiers, fax machines, private workstations, AT&T credit card telephones and dataports for computer hookups, and a conference room.

Continental - opening five new Presidents Clubs this summer - recently opened clubrooms in Dallas and Cleveland, Terminal B in Houston, and will soon open its first in Mexico City.

Continental Airlines maintains 20 clubrooms and gives members access to over 45 affiliated lounges worldwide. Annual memberships start as low as $200.
