Continental Express Introduces New Service Between Knoxville and Houston

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., July 7, 1999 -- Continental Express, the regional airline subsidiary of Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A), began new non-stop service from Knoxville's McGhee Tyson Airport to Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport today.

The new service to Houston provides passengers with convenient connections to cities in the West as well as Latin America and Tokyo.

Using the new 50-seat Embraer 145 regional jet, Continental Express now offers one daily non-stop between its hub in Houston and Knoxville. The flight from Knoxville departs at 9:40 a.m. and arrives in Houston at 11:05 a.m. The return flight from Houston departs at 6:55 p.m. and arrives in Knoxville at 10:05 p.m.

A second daily flight between Knoxville and Houston will begin Aug. 1. The additional flight will depart Knoxville at 3:00 p.m. and arrive in Houston at 4:35 p.m. The second flight from Houston will depart at 11:00 a.m. and arrive in Knoxville at 2:30 p.m.

Additionally, Continental Express will begin service from Knoxville to its hub in Cleveland effective September 9.
