Continental Express Begins New Service Between Charleston and Cleveland
CHARLESTON, W.Va., October 29, 1999 -- Continental Express, the regional airline subsidiary of Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A), today announced new service from Yeager Airport in Charleston, W. Va, to its hub at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, effective Feb. 10, 2000.
In recent months, U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller and officials from the Yeager Airport had urged Continental Express to consider new service for West Virginia in the first quarter of 2000. Today, Gordon Bethune, chairman and CEO of Continental Airlines, expressed optimism that with the strong support of the business and leisure community, Continental Express will be able to build a market at Yeager.
The new service to Cleveland provides passengers with convenient connections to cities in the Midwest, including Chicago and Detroit, and other points in the West.
Continental Express, offering four daily flights, will depart from Charleston at 6 a.m., 10:10 a.m., 1:25 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Arrivals in Cleveland will be at 7 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. The departures from Cleveland will be at 8:50 a.m., 12:05 p.m., 4:05 p.m. and 8:55 p.m. Arrivals in Charleston will be at 9:50 a.m., 1:05 p.m., 5:05 p.m. and 9:55 p.m.
