Continental Express Accelerates Launch of New Service from Columbia, South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C., November 19, 1999 -- Continental Express, the regional airline subsidiary of Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A), is responding to overwhelming bookings from Columbia to Houston by accelerating the start of new service. The airline today announced it will begin the new service on Feb. 10, 2000, instead of April 2, 2000, as previously announced. Continental Express on that date also begins Myrtle Beach to Cleveland service.

Continental Express will offer service from Columbia to George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston with two daily flights using the 50-passenger Embraer ERJ-145, known as ExpressJet. The flights from Columbia will depart at 6:40 a.m. and 5:20 p.m. with arrivals in Houston at 8 a.m. and 6:40 p.m. Flights from Houston will depart at 1:30 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. and arrive in Columbia at 4:45 p.m. and 10:35 p.m.
