Continental Airlines Inaugurates New Non-Stop Service Between Cleveland and Austin
New Austin non-stop is a first for Cleveland; eliminates connections
CLEVELAND, June 13, 2000 -- On Wed., June 14, Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A) will inaugurate new daily non-stop service from its Cleveland hub to Austin, Texas. This marks the first time Cleveland has had a non-stop flight to the capital of Texas, eliminating a connection.
Service will be operated with a 104-seat Boeing 737-500, consisting of 10 first class and 94 coach seats. Flying time will be approximately 3 hours. The flight will depart Cleveland Hopkins International Airport at 7:35 p.m. and arrive in Austin at 9:39 p.m. The return flight will leave Austin Bergstrom International Airport at 6:30 a.m. and arrive in Cleveland at 10:18 a.m.
In addition to the new non-stop service, Continental offers seven connecting flights daily to Austin through Houston.
