Continental Airlines Inaugurates Service to Santa Cruz, Bolivia
HOUSTON, June 20, 2000 -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A) today will inaugurate service to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, from New York and Houston via Lima, Peru.
The three times weekly service, with a stop in Lima, Peru, will operate with a Boeing 757-200 aircraft equipped with 16 first class seats and 156 economy class seats.
Santa Cruz, located between the Andean foothills and the Amazon region in Bolivia, is the fastest growing economic center of Bolivia, noted for its developing oil and gas industry.
As the No. 2 airline to Latin America and the Caribbean in number of passengers and destinations, Continental offers service to 21 countries and 44 cities in the region with the addition of Santa Cruz.
