Continental More Than Doubles the Number of eService Centers in Houston and Newark

HOUSTON, July 6, 2000 -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A) has more than doubled the number of eService Centers at Newark International Airport and Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport. In Houston, eService Centers have been added in the Terminal C ticket lobby, at the entrance of every concourse and in all four Presidents Clubs, bringing the number of eService Centers at the airport to 44. The number of kiosks in Newark has increased to 32, with eService Centers now located throughout Terminals A and C.

The eService Center kiosks allow customers to check bags, pick a seat assignment, verify OnePass frequent flyer number and obtain boarding passes. Elite OnePass members and eligible companions also can upgrade to first class on the eService Centers.

In 1995, Continental was the first major airline to introduce airport self-service kiosks. The airline recently deployed additional eService Centers at 50 U.S. airports, more than doubling the number of kiosks from 110 in 1999 to the current 240.

Continental Airlines is the fifth largest airline in the U.S., offering more than 2,200 departures daily to 136 domestic and 87 international destinations. Operating major hubs in Newark, Houston and Cleveland, Continental (www.continental.com) serves more international cities than any other U.S. carrier, including extensive service throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Continental is in the top quarter of FORTUNE magazine’s "100 Best Companies to Work for in America," and is ranked the nation’s No. 1 airline in customer satisfaction for long and short-haul flights by Frequent Flyer Magazine and J.D. Power and Associates. Continental has received numerous awards for its BusinessFirst premium cabin (Condé Nast Traveler, OAG, Entrepreneur and SmartMoney magazines), OnePass frequent flyer program (InsideFlyer’s Freddie Awards) and overall operations and management (Air Transport World’s 1996 Airline of the Year).
