Continental Express Begins Nonstop Service Between Houston and Hermosillo, Mexico

HOUSTON, July 31, 2000 -- Continental Express, the regional airline subsidiary of Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A), will begin daily, nonstop service from its hub at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport to Hermosillo, capital of the northwestern Mexico state of Sonora, tomorrow.

Hermosillo is the 21st Mexican destination for Continental, already the leading U.S. air carrier to Mexico.

Flights from Houston depart at 8:35 p.m., Monday-Friday and Sunday, arriving in Hermosillo at 9:28 p.m. On Saturdays, the flight will depart Houston at 5:35 p.m., arriving in Hermosillo at 6:28 p.m. Return flights will leave Hermosillo each day at 7:15 a.m. and arrive in Houston at 11:59 a.m.

Continental Express will operate the 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 regional jet, known as the ExpressJet, on the daily, nonstop flight to Hermosillo. The Embraer ERJ-145 offers amenities such as jet-bridge loading, a fully equipped galley, spacious lavatory, leather-covered seats and carry-on luggage storage.
