Continental Airlines Launches Service Between New York and Oakland

NEW YORK, Aug. 1, 2000 -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A) today inaugurates new service between Newark International Airport and Oakland International Airport.

Service to Oakland, Calif., will operate twice daily with a 124-seat Boeing 737-700. The first flight out of Newark will depart at 7:10 a.m. and arrive in Oakland at 10:20 a.m. The second flight departs Newark at 8:40 p.m. and arrives in Oakland at 11:59 p.m. Return flights will leave Oakland at 11:10 a.m. and 11:05 p.m., and arrive in Newark at 7:35 p.m. and 7:17 a.m., respectively. In addition, Continental serves San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and Orange County non-stop from New York. Continental is the only carrier to serve all three of California’s Bay area airports from New York.
