Continental Express Begins New Service From LaGuardia
Continental to provide regional jet service to Richmond, Va., and Buffalo, N.Y.NEW YORK, Sept. 6, 2000 -- Continental Express, the regional airline subsidiary of Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A), will begin service from New York's LaGuardia to Buffalo, N.Y., and Richmond, Va., effective tomorrow.
"This new service will provide our customers with more options when flying to or from the New York City area," said Jim Ream, president of Continental Express. "As New York's airline, Continental Express and Continental Airlines are able to offer the convenience of choosing Newark or LaGuardia, based on your travel needs."
Using the 50-passenger Embraer ERJ-145 regional jet, Continental Express will offer four daily flights from LaGuardia to both Richmond and Buffalo. The new service will complement Continental's daily service between Newark and both cities.

Also effective tomorrow, Continental Express will begin daily non-stop service between Richmond and Tampa, Fla., and Orlando, Fla., offering the only non-stop service from Richmond to these two Florida cities.
Using the ERJ-145, ExpressJet, the carrier will offer one daily flight between Richmond and Tampa. The flight departs Richmond at 11 a.m. and arrives in Tampa at 1:17 p.m. The return flight departs Tampa at 1:55 p.m. and arrives in Richmond at 4 p.m.
The airline will offer two daily flights between Richmond and Orlando, also using the ExpressJet. Flights depart Richmond at 8:50 a.m. and 2:25 p.m. with arrivals in Orlando at 10:57 a.m. and 4:32 p.m. Return flights from Orlando depart at 11:30 a.m. and 5:05 p.m. with arrivals in Richmond at 1:30 p.m. and 7:05 p.m.
