Continental Airlines to Add Second Flight Between New York and Portland, Oregon
NEW YORK, Sept. 19, 2000 -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A) today announced expanded service between Newark International Airport and Portland International Airport (PDX).
Beginning April 2, a second daily flight will operate between Newark and Portland with a 124-seat Boeing 737-700. This second flight departs Newark at 8 a.m. and arrives in Portland at 11:05 a.m. The second return flight will leave Portland at 12:15 p.m., and arrive in Newark at 8:25 p.m. Continental’s current daily service to Portland via its New York hub departs Newark at 5:15 p.m. and arrives in Portland at 8:20 p.m. The return flight leaves Portland at 7:45 a.m. and arrives in Newark at 3:43 p.m.

"Based on the full support that Portland travelers have shown for our current service to New York, there is overwhelming proof that a need exists for our second daily flight starting in April."
Continental also provides three daily flights between Portland and its Houston hub. Both the New York and Houston hubs provide important links to international destinations in Latin America and Europe.
