Continental Airlines Announces Daily, Nonstop Service Between New York and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico
Flight allows easy connections for the western part of the Island.HOUSTON, Oct. 4, 2000 -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL AND CAL.A) today announced it will launch daily, nonstop service from New York to the Rafael Hernández Airport in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, on Dec. 14, 2000. The carrier will operate the route using a Boeing 737-700 equipped with 12 first class seats and 112 economy seats.
"The western part of Puerto Rico is one of the fastest growing areas in terms of manufacturing and business activity," said Frank Galán, Continental’s director for the Caribbean based in Puerto Rico. "This new flight will give us the opportunity to quickly connect the western part of the island with our hub in Newark and from there to the rest of the USA and Europe."
Continental flight 709 will depart Newark International Airport at 9 p.m., arriving in Aguadilla at 1:55 a.m. Return flight 704 will depart Aguadilla at 7 a.m., arriving in Newark at 10 a.m.
