Continental Airlines Reports November Load Factor
HOUSTON, Dec. 1, 2000 -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A) today reported its second highest systemwide November load factor of 72.6 percent, compared to last November’s record of 72.9 percent. In addition, this year’s November domestic load factor was a record for that month at 73.9 percent.
In November 2000, Continental flew 5.1 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 7.0 billion available seat miles (ASMs), resulting in a traffic increase of 2.5 percent and a capacity increase of 2.9 percent versus November 1999. Domestic traffic was 3.2 billion RPMs, up 3.6 percent from November 1999 and domestic capacity was 4.4 billion ASMs, up 2.2 percent from last year.
Continental Express, Continental’s wholly owned regional subsidiary, reported a systemwide load factor of 62.2 percent, the second highest November load factor in that company’s history, compared to last year’s record of 62.4 percent. Continental Express flew 264.5 million RPMs and 425.2 million ASMs in November, resulting in a traffic increase of 32.4 percent and a capacity increase of 32.8 percent versus last year.
