Continental Airlines Statement on Wednesday's Flight Operations

HOUSTON, Sept. 12, 2001 -- As of 10:30 a.m. CDT, no commercial airline has been given approval to resume operations. As a result, Continental Airlines expects to operate only minimal flights today, consisting principally of the continuation of flights that were diverted yesterday. Of course, any service will require the government's approval to resume operations.

The latest information on Continental flight operations will be posted at continental.com.

For those passengers whose itineraries have been affected, Continental is waiving change fees for tickets originally issued for travel between Sept. 11 and Sept. 17. Customers may extend their outbound and inbound travel period by up to one year from the date of ticket issuance, without penalty or change fees.

In addition, customers holding non-refundable tickets who were scheduled to travel Sept. 11 and Sept. 12 may also request a refund in the original form of payment. Continental is closely monitoring all advisories pertaining to flight operations and security issued by U.S. agencies.
