Continental Flight Departure Update

Hagatna, Guam, Sept. 14, 2001 -- Continental Airlines has learned that the Federal Aviation Administration has granted U.S. carriers approval to operate certain domestic flights on a flight-by-flight basis. The FAA has also approved usage of airports and airspace in the Micronesia region currently limited to Guam, Saipan and Honolulu. As a result, Continental plans to operate limited scheduled passenger flights today, September 14, 2001, between Guam and Saipan as follows:

Continental has learned that it will not be allowed to operate international flights in and out of Guam and Saipan until cleared by the U.S. government. As a result, all international flights in out of Guam and Saipan on Friday, September 14 have been canceled. Those routes include flights between Guam/Saipan and Manila, Denpasar (Bali), Japan, Taipei, Hong Kong and Cairns and the Micronesian islands.

In addition, Continental is planning an on-time departure of the following flights between Guam and Houston as follows:

Only passengers confirmed on these flights on these dates should check in at the airport. Check-in time is three (3) hours prior to departure. Passengers previously booked on these flights may be accommodated on a standby basis. Passengers must present valid photo identification. Limiting hand-carry baggage is recommended in order to expedite security screening.
