Continental Express Announces Non-Stop Service Between Grand Rapids, Mich., and New York/Newark
NEW YORK, November 26, 2001 -- Continental Express, the regional air carrier to Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL), today announced it will begin non-stop service between Grand Rapids, Mich., and its Newark International Airport hub, effective Feb. 14, 2002. Continental Express will be the only airline offering non-stop flights between Grand Rapids and the New York City area.
The new Continental Express service, aboard the fast, quiet 37-passenger Embraer ERJ-135 ExpressJet, will operate Sunday through Friday, departing Newark each day at 2:20 p.m. and arriving at Grand Rapids at 3:55 p.m. The return flight departs Grand Rapids at 6:30 p.m. and arrives in Newark at 7:50 p.m.
"This new service for Grand Rapids and Newark complements the existing connections through our Cleveland hub by providing an additional flight time and a faster, direct option for the convenience of busy business travelers," said a Continental Express spokesperson.
