Continental Airlines Names Jeff Misner Chief Financial Officer
HOUSTON, November 27, 2001 -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) today announced that Jeff Misner was named chief financial officer of the company by its board of directors.
In this position, Misner, 48, is responsible for the airline's overall financial operations and will continue to report to Larry Kellner, Continental's president.
"Jeff has played a key role in Continental's success the past six years," said Gordon Bethune, Continental's Chairman and CEO. "His abilities and leadership will continue to be a vital part of the Company as we, along with our industry, rebuild our business."
Misner joined the airline in 1995 as vice president - treasury operations and has held positions of increasing responsibility, including vice president and treasurer and senior vice president - finance.
Prior to joining Continental, Misner was a tax and business consultant and was a partner with Ernst and Young. He also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1971-1975.
