Continental Airlines Launches Miles For Merchandise

Just in Time for Holiday Gift Giving

HOUSTON, December 7, 2001 -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) announced its first ever Miles for Merchandise program today that allows its OnePass frequent flyer members to purchase high-quality, luxury branded merchandise with a combination of miles and money.

Under the new program, One Pass members may use miles for substantial savings on a variety of merchandise from quality brand names such as Callaway Golf, Coach, Movado, Panasonic, JVC, Sony and many others. "Miles for Merchandise is perfect for frequent flyers who want to use their miles, have limited time, and big holiday gift lists," said Mark Sullivan, Managing Director of OnePass. "At the same time it gives Continental the chance to reward our most loyal customers with valuable savings on merchandise and gives our members an attractive alternative to use miles for something other than travel benefits." Miles for Merchandise is available to OnePass members through Continental’s website at onepass.continental.com under "Your Account." To access the program, members will need to input their account and pin numbers. Upon accessing the program, members will be linked to Brainstorm Logistics who has teamed with Continental to process merchandise orders.
