Who Can Book on continental.com?

Do I have to be a OnePass member to book flights on continental.com?

No, anyone with a billing address in a country where Continental offers flight service may book online. We encourage OnePass members to sign in before or during the booking process so they can have their travel and payment information provided to them.

I do not live in the United States, can I book a ticket in my local currency on continental.com?

Click on the Advanced Search link in the flight search box on the home page and select your country when you are asked to provide your billing address country. See our list of countries where you can book airline tickets on continental.com.

What does "billing address country" mean?

Billing address country refers to the country in which you either receive your billing statement from the credit card you plan to use, or the country in which you plan to pay in cash at a Western Union or Continental ticketing facility.

I don't have a credit/debit card. Can I still book a flight on continental.com?

Yes, continental.com offers the opportunity to pay cash at a Western Union or Continental Ticketing Facility, use Bill Me Later®, or Online Check from your checking or savings account from TeleCheck.

Is it safe to submit a credit card to continental.com?

Yes, your credit card information is secured using advanced Web technology called SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to protect personal information as it travels across the Internet. SSL is an industry standard technology supported by Internet Explorer, Netscape, Safari, Firefox, and other popular Web browsers. Continental Airlines uses SSL to completely encrypt your credit card data so that it cannot be read by anyone else.

I need to buy an airline ticket for a child under the age of 15 to travel alone. Can I purchase the ticket online?

Yes, OnePass members may book a ticket for an Unaccompanied Minor online. Please see our Unaccompanied Minor policy for details.

Do I need to make a reservation for a lap infant?

Yes, Click on the Advanced Search link in the flight search box on the home page and enter the number of infants in an adult lap. See our Traveling with Infants policy for details.

Can I include my in-cabin pet in my reservation?

Yes, on the View Current Reservation page you can select Add Pet to add your pet traveling in-cabin to your existing reservation. Continental allows domesticated cats, dogs, pet rabbits and household birds to be carried in the aircraft cabin on all U.S. domestic flights (except to/from Hawaii). An in-cabin pet may be carried instead of a carry-on bag and is subject to a service charge each way. In-cabin pets can be booked online or by calling Continental Reservations. What cities does Continental Airlines serve?

I received a promotional offer to be redeemed online. How can I redeem it?

You may enter your Offer Code in the flight search box on the home page. If you are redeeming a gift certificate or electronic travel certificate, they can be redeemed at the Complete Your Purchase page during the flight booking process.

How can I tell that I am seeing flights that qualify for my promotional offer or continental.com Special?

Flights that qualify for your offer will have a blue star indicating if that offer has been applied to the fare shown, or qualifies for your special offer. Continental.com Specials are designated with a yellow star.

Can I book flights for multiple stop itineraries online?

Yes, you can purchase tickets for one way or multiple destination travel by selecting the One Way or Multiple Destination options at the top of the flight search box on the home page.

What does Search Nearby Airports or Search flights +/- one day mean?

You can search for airports within a 70-mile radius of the original airports selected. The Search Flights +/- function searches for your original itinerary one day before and after the original departure and return dates to see if there is a lower fare available.

Can I "hold" a flight?

Continental.com offers instant ticketing that includes a 24-hour refund policy. You can return to your reservation in Manage Reservations to request a refund after purchasing if you were signed into your OnePass account at time of purchase.

Do you offer any travel insurance protection on airline tickets?

Airline Ticket Protector, offered through our trip insurance partner, Access America, provides greater peace of mind when you travel. Coverage starts as low as $12 per ticket and includes Trip Cancellation/Interruption Coverage + that reimburses prepaid, unused, non-refundable travel expenses should your trip be cancelled or interrupted due to a variety of covered reasons. Look for Airline Ticket Protector when you buy your next ticket on continental.com. If you have already purchased your ticket and would like to add Airline Ticket Protector, visit Access America's travel protection Web site.

Does the number of passengers I choose limit my lowest fare flight choices?

Yes. Based on the number of passengers traveling in your group, the lowest fare may not be available on a particular flight due to seat availability.

What does it mean when I see "limited seats" next to a price for a particular flight?

It means there are less than nine seats available at that fare for your itinerary.

Why are the number of seats available not shown for some flights?

The number of seats left at a particular price is only shown when there are less than nine seats available at that fare for your itinerary.

Do you have special assistance for customers with disabilities?

Yes, you can place a special needs request on the Traveler Details page during the booking process. See Customers with Disabilities for details. Please note some special needs assistance is not available on all flights due to aircraft type or other considerations.

I noticed some flights are operated by other airlines and have a 24-hour hold. What does this mean?

Flights operated by certain partners require a 24-hour hold so we can ensure that your preferred flight and seat are processed with that partner. Once we receive confirmation of your itinerary from the partner airline, we will notify you via e-mail.

How far in advance can I book a ticket?

You can book a ticket online 330 days prior to travel.

How many passengers can I book in one reservation?

Up to eight travelers can be booked at one time on continental.com. For larger groups, please contact Continental GroupWorks for special consideration.

Can I make changes to my reservation after I have purchased it?

Yes, you may make changes to most reservations in Manage Reservations after purchasing. Please note that a change fee may apply.
