Travel & Upgrade Reward Rules

TRAVEL REWARD RULES

In addition to the general OnePass reward rules, the following rules apply to both SaverPass and EasyPass Travel Rewards.

  • SAVERPASS REWARDS: SaverPass rewards have limited availability and are subject to capacity controls.
  • EASYPASS REWARDS: EasyPass rewards offer expanded availability on flights operated by Continental Airlines, Continental Micronesia, Continental Express, select flights doing business as Continental Connection (to/from New York/Newark and Cleveland via Colgan Air and CommutAir only), and Copa Airlines (including Aero República). OnePass Elite members have access to last-seat availability on flights operated by Continental and Copa Airlines. Connections to partner flights are permitted for travel within the Mainland U.S., Alaska and Canada, and on international itineraries when Continental is used for the long-haul portion of the itinerary.
  • ELIGIBLE CARRIERS: Unless otherwise noted, travel rewards may be booked on any combination of flights operated by:
    • Continental Airlines
    • Continental Micronesia
    • Continental Express (operated by ExpressJet Airlines and Chautauqua Airlines)
    • Continental Connection (operated by Cape Air, Colgan Air, CommutAir, and Gulfstream International Airlines)
    • Copa Airlines (including flights operated by Aero República)
    • Star Alliance Members - Adria Airways, Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Blue 1, BMI, Croatia Airlines, Egyptair, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, SAS, Shanghai Airlines (temporarily unavailable), Singapore Airlines, SN Brussels Airlines, South African Airways, Spanair, Swiss International Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, and United Airlines and US Airways
    • OnePass Partners - Emirates and Virgin Atlantic Airways. Combinations with Qantas and Eva Air are not permitted. For reward travel on Qantas and Eva Air, contact our International Airline Partner Desk at 800.344.3333 or your local Continental Airlines reservations office
    • Continental Codeshare - Flights operated by Amtrak rail, Cape Air, SNCF French Rail
    • Add-on Carriers — Add-on options are also available for Hawaiian Airlines, Island Air and US Helicopter
  • FIRST CLASS ON THREE_CABIN AIRCRAFT: The following carriers offer both a Business Class and First Class cabin on select flights: Air China, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Egyptair, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Swiss International Airlines, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, and United Airlines. On these flights, a higher mileage amount will apply for travel in First Class.
  • BOOKING TRAVEL REWARDS: Most travel reward itineraries may be booked at continental.com. Certain travel rewards may only be booked over the phone with your local Continental Reservations office, including itineraries with stopovers, itineraries booked in First Class on three-cabin aircraft, flights operated by certain carriers. A Reward Booking Service Fee of $25 per person will apply to all bookings made over the phone, regardless of whether it is possible to be booked at continental.com.
  • CLOSE-IN REWARD BOOKINGS: Rewards ticketed less than 21 days before travel will be subject to the following close-in reward booking fees:

    For Platinum members, the $35 fee applies to ticketing within 4 to 14 days of departure, and the $50 fee applies to ticketing within 0 to 3 days of departure

    Fees are based on the status of the account holder at the time the change is requested.

  • COMBINING: Different reward types (SaverPass and EasyPass) and cabins may be combined to create a single roundtrip reward. Rewards may not be combined or used with any other air travel certificate, discount coupon, premium offer or specific promotional fares.
  • ONE-WAYS: One way rewards are not offered, unless otherwise noted. If you redeem your roundtrip reward for a one-way ticket, the unused portion of the reward will be forfeited.
  • OPEN JAW: One open jaw permitted.
  • STOPOVER: One stopover is permitted, unless otherwise noted. Additional mileage may be required for SaverPass rewards within the Mainland U.S., Alaska and Canada.
  • CIRCLE TRIP: Not permitted.
  • UPGRADES: Economy Class rewards may be exchanged for a higher cabin, if available, for the difference in mileage and applicable reward change fee. Travel rewards may not be used in conjunction with promotional upgrades, OnePass Upgrade Rewards, or complimentary Elite upgrades.
  • MILEAGE ACCRUAL: Travel rewards are not eligible mileage accrual with OnePass, or any other loyalty program.
  • WAITLISTING: Waitlisting for travel rewards is permitted on flights operated by Continental, and will be automatically cleared based on the status of the account holder. Courtesy waitlists may be requested and held up to 24 hours before itinerary departure. Confirming an EasyPass reward and waitlisting for a SaverPass reward is not permitted.
    • FLIGHT WAITLISTING: Ticketed customers may waitlist for an alternate flight. Wholly waitlisted reservations are not permitted.
    • FRONT CABIN WAITLISTING: A customer may redeem a First or Business Class travel reward, even if the space is not available. In these cases, Economy Class in the same reward type must be confirmed, and the front cabin will be waitlisted. For example, a SaverPass First Class reward must be confirmed in SaverPass Economy Class to be eligible for waitlisting. If the courtesy waitlist does not clear, it will expire 24 hours before itinerary departure, and the customer will automatically be added to the airport upgrade standby list upon check-in. In these cases, customers will be cleared on a space-available basis by a Continental airport representative at the gate once the flight has closed for check-in. For BusinessFirst travel rewards, the difference in miles will be refunded when the BusinessFirst segment of the trip could not be confirmed. Waitlist requests may only be made over the phone with your local Continental Reservations office.
  • FLIGHT CHANGES: Flight changes, including standby, may be made on the day of departure in accordance with the Same-Day Change Policy. All other itinerary changes will be subject to the applicable change fees below.

    * Fee is waived for reward changes 21 days or more in advance, as long as there is no change to the origin and destination.

  • RE-DEPOSITS AND REFUNDS: Unused or cancelled OnePass rewards may be re-deposited back to the account from which the miles were withdrawn prior to the expiration date. Reward re-deposits are subject to the fees below.

    OnePass travel rewards have no cash value except for applicable taxes, fees and surcharges. Request for refund of taxes should be sent to refund accounting.

UPGRADE REWARD RULES

In addition to the general OnePass reward rules, the following rules apply specifically to Continental and Copa Airlines Upgrade Rewards.

  • UPGRADE REWARDS: Upgrade rewards have limited availability and are subject to capacity controls.
  • ELIGIBLE CARRIERS: Unless otherwise noted, travel rewards may be booked on any combination of flights operated by:
    • Continental Airlines
    • Continental Micronesia
    • Copa Airlines
  • CO-PAYS: Upgrade co-pays may apply to certain upgrade rewards. For details and co-pay amounts,. These fees are refundable if the upgrade reward is re-deposited. Below are the general circumstances in which co-pays are applicable:
    • BusinessFirst upgrades from all fare classes except Y and B class. BusinessFirst service is offered on Continental flights between the U.S. and Southern South America, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, North Asia, South Asia and Japan, plus nonstop flights between Hawaii and Houston, New York/Newark and Guam.
    • Upgrades within the Mainland U.S., Alaska and Canada from all fare classes, except Y, B, M, H and K class (Elite member redemptions are exempt)
  • BOOKING UPGRADE REWARDS: Most travel reward itineraries may be booked at continental.com. Upgrade rewards may also be made over the phone with your local Continental Reservations office. A Booking Service Fee of $25 per person may apply to new bookings made over the phone, regardless of whether it is possible to be booked at continental.com. Mileage deduction and applicable co-pays for all OnePass upgrade rewards will be assessed at the time of request.
  • OPEN JAW: Permitted in accordance with the rules of the fare purchased.
  • STOPOVER: Permitted in accordance with the rules of the fare purchased.
  • CIRCLE TRIP: Permitted in accordance with the rules of the fare purchased.
  • MILEAGE ACCRUAL: Mileage accrual for OnePass and other participating loyalty programs will be based on the original fare class purchased.
  • WAITLISTING AND STANDBY: Waitlisting for upgrade rewards is permitted up to 24 hours prior to flight departure, and will be automatically cleared based on the status of the account holder. When a courtesy waitlist does not clear, it will expire, and the customer will automatically be added to the airport upgrade standby list. GENERAL RULES

The following rules apply to both OnePass Travel Rewards and Continental and Copa Airlines Upgrade Rewards.

  • VALIDITY: Valid one year from original date of issue. All travel must be completed within one year from date of issue.
  • RESTRICTED TRAVEL DATES: Continental and Copa Airlines do not have any restricted travel dates for OnePass rewards; however, some partners may have restricted travel dates
  • REWARD REGIONS: See Interactive Reward Chart
  • APPLICABLE FEES AND SURCHARGES: OnePass members are responsible for all applicable federal inspection fees, terminal facility fees, customs and immigration fees, infant tickets (when required for children under two years of age) and any other fees or surcharges applicable to reward travel. Fees and surcharges must be paid by credit card only at the time the OnePass reward is ticketed. Also, some international departure fees are due at the airport, payable in cash only.
  • TRANSFERRING: Once an airline ticket is issued, the passenger name on the ticket may not be changed, and the ticket may not be used by anyone else. A name change requires that you re-deposit the reward for a service fee (payable by credit card only) and request a new reward in the appropriate name.
  • SELLING REWARDS: OnePass rewards and mileage in your OnePass account may not be sold, bartered, traded, exchanged or purchased, except under programs fully authorized and/or sponsored by Continental Airlines. Rewards and mileage obtained in violation of this rule will be void and confiscated. A violation of this rule may result in the termination of your OnePass membership and forfeiture of all mileage in your account. If a person other than the OnePass member or the person named on the reward attempts to use the reward, it will be void and travel will be denied. Altered rewards are also void. Rewards deemed void will be confiscated and the mileage forfeited by the member. At the discretion of OnePass, actions which result in a void reward may lead to membership termination and forfeiture of all mileage.
  • AIRLINE RE-ROUTING: In the event of a flight delay or cancellation, you will be re-routed on the first available flight in accordance with Continental's Customer First policy . Some partners may have different policies for re-accommodation during irregular operations.
  • FORFEITURE OF MILEAGE: If you elect to travel in a lower class of service than specified by your reward, you will not receive a mileage adjustment.
  • TAX LIABILITY: All tax liability associated with the OnePass program and with the receipt and use of OnePass rewards', including income tax, is the responsibility of the user. OnePass upgrade rewards to BusinessFirst, First Class or Business Class departing to the United Kingdom are subject to additional departure taxes.
  • COMPLIANCE WITH REWARD RULES: If you fail to comply with the OnePass reward rules, at Continental Airlines' sole discretion, you may be accommodated on a different flight than originally selected, seated in a lower class of service, denied ticketing or boarding, or be subject to other action as provided under the "Mileage or Reward Abuse" provision herein. Travel on Continental Airlines or OnePass airline partners is subject to the filed tariffs and standard contract of carriage of the specific carrier.
