U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) launched the Global Entry™ pilot program in order to expedite the processing of low-risk, pre-screened international travelers entering the United States.
Upon returning from international travel, Global Entry™-enrolled travelers may bypass the regular passport control queue and proceed directly to the Global Entry™ kiosk. The program is currently available at Houston (IAH-Intercontinental) and in Newark (EWR-Liberty).
Individuals who are 14 years of age and older who are U. S. citizens or U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents may apply for Global Entry™.
The Global Entry™ application process consists of the following steps:
- Complete and submit the online Global Entry™ application at https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov/
- Pay a nonrefundable fee of $100 for processing
- CBP will review the applicant's information and conduct a rigorous background investigation
- Once the application is in Conditionally Approved status, applicants will undergo an interview with the CBP officers at an Enrollment Center
The Enrollment Center is available at New York/Newark (EWR) from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., seven days a week, and at Houston (IAH - Intercontinental) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week.
