Continental Airlines offers Trip Insurance products for residents of over 15 countries across the globe through our Trip Insurance partners in order provide greater peace of mind when you travel.

With Trip Insurance, you can purchase affordable coverage that includes Trip Cancellation / Interruption coverage* that reimburses prepaid, unused, non-refundable travel expenses should your trip be cancelled or interrupted due to any covered reason. There are a number of covered reasons that could cause you to cancel your trip, or return home such as:

  • Inclement weather conditions cause a delay in beginning your trip and arriving to your destination as planned.
  • You or a member for your family is struck by an unexpected illness or death that cancels your vacation.
  • Travel delays cause you to miss your connecting flight and incur overnight lodging expenses while you wait*.

How to Purchase Trip Insurance

Continental Airlines and our Trip Insurance partners easily allow you to purchase Trip Insurance at any time up to 24-hours before your flight departure, even after you have purchased your ticket.

  • To purchase Trip Insurance when you purchase your next ticket on continental.com, simply choose your Trip Insurance product while on the payment information page.
  • If you have already purchased your air ticket, you may purchase Trip Insurance simply by visiting the View Reservation page and selecting the Trip Insurance option on the page.
  • Contact the appropriate Trip Insurance partner directly using the links below to purchase Trip Insurance anytime before your journey.

Satisfaction Guarantee

Continental Airlines and our Trip Insurance partners are committed to providing you the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your insurance purchase you may seek a full refund of the premium as provided below:

Residents of the United States*: Access America will process a full refund of the premium within 10 days of purchase, as long as you have not yet departed on your trip or filed a claim. No refunds shall be paid after 10 days of purchasing the program.

Residents of Canada**: Within 5 days of purchasing the program, World Access will process a full refund of premium to you, as long as you have not already departed on your trip or filed a claim. Refunds are only available when World Access receives your request for a refund before your departure date. No refunds shall be paid to you after 5 days of purchasing the program.

Residents of Select European Countries***: Within 14 days of purchasing the program, Mondial Assistance/Elvia will process a full refund of premium to you, as long as you have not already departed on your trip or filed a claim. No refunds shall be paid to you after 14 days of purchasing the program.
