Upgrade Reward Terms and Conditions Summary
  • Upgrade Rewards have limited availability and are subject to capacity controls.
  • Eligible Carriers. Unless otherwise noted, upgrade rewards may be booked on any combination of flights operated by Continental, Continental Micronesia, and Copa Airlines.
  • BusinessFirst Co-pays. Certain discounted fares require a co-pay for upgrades into BusinessFirst. BusinessFirst service is offered on Continental flights between the U.S. and Southern South America, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, North Asia, South Asia and Japan, plus nonstop flights between Hawaii and Houston, New York/Newark and Guam. These fees are refundable if the upgrade reward is re-deposited.
  • How to Book an Upgrade Reward. Most travel reward itineraries may be booked at continental.com. Upgrade rewards may also be made over the phone with your local Continental Reservations office. A Booking Service Fee of $20 per person may apply to new bookings made over the phone, regardless of whether it is possible to be booked at continental.com. Mileage deduction and applicable co-pays for all OnePass upgrade rewards will be assessed at the time of request.
  • Waitlisting and Standby. Waitlisting for upgrade rewards is permitted up to 24 hours prior to trip departure, and will be automatically cleared based on the status of the account holder. When a courtesy waitlist does not clear, it will expire, and the customer will automatically be added to the airport upgrade standby list. In these cases, customers will be cleared on a space-available basis by a Continental airport representative at the gate once the flight has closed for check-in. For BusinessFirst upgrade rewards, all miles and upgrade co-pays will be refunded when the BusinessFirst segment of the trip could not be upgraded. For all other upgrade rewards, miles and upgrade co-pays will only be refunded when no segment of the trip could be upgraded. Waitlist requests may only be made over the phone with your local Continental Reservations office.
  • Stopovers, Open Jaws and Circle Trips. Stopovers and open jaws and circle trips are permitted in accordance with the rules of the fare purchased.
  • Fees, Refunds and Additional Terms. Fees may apply for itinerary changes and reward re-deposits. Reward amounts and eligible carriers are subject to change and additional terms and conditions apply. View the full OnePass travel reward terms and conditions and fee amounts.
