Northeast - A storm system will move from the Gulf of Maine northward into the Canadian Maritimes today. Precipitation will continue to rotate around the storm system affecting portions of Pennsylvania, Upstate New York, New England and Maine. This precipitation will fall as wet snow in elevations exceeding 1,000 feet with mainly rain expected elsewhere. The lingering rain and snow will exit all but the far northern extents of the region by noon today. Winds will continue to howl today over the northern half of the region. Wind gusts in excess of 50 mph are possible, especially in the higher elevations of New England.

West - A frontal boundary will extend through the northern Rockies. Light accumulating Snow showers will be found near this front in the higher terrain of Montana. Meanwhile further west a warm front will be clipping the northern and western portions of Washington State resulting in a few light showers to be scattered about. The main western weather maker will be an upper level low which will be going rogue today and cutting itself off from the main flow as it dips southward over southern California. This system will bring enough instability to the atmosphere to lead to the development of scattered shower activity to parts of southern California eastward into the Desert Southwest.

South - Other than a stray early morning sprinkle along the gulf coast the entire south will be dry today. The area of high pressure that is responsible for the nice day will also act to influence the south?s temperature structure.

Midwest - A ridge of high pressure will be drifting eastward across the Midwest today. The end result will be dry and mild daytime conditions.
