Notice: Take advantage of the new Self Select Lanes in Terminal C

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has now opened Self-Select Lanes in Terminal C at Checkpoint C-1 in Newark. Self-Select Lanes allow customers to pass through the security lines based on their travel needs and knowledge. All Continental Express flights at Newark Liberty operate out of Terminal A. Newark passengers are advised to check the status of their terminal and gate upon arrival. Customers who have not yet cleared security can change terminals using AirTrain, and customers inside the secure areas can change terminals using the Bus Service.

New York/Newark Liberty International Airport is located at 10 Toler Pl, Newark, NJ 07114 — approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) southeast of the city of Newark, NJ and approximately 14 miles (22.4 km) southwest of midtown Manhattan.

AirTrain Newark between New York/ Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and New York Penn StationThe Newark Liberty International Airport Rail Link Station allows passengers to quickly connect to the region's mass transit rail network, significantly reducing the travel time between the airport and Manhattan just 16 miles away. No other airport in the New York City area offers this hassle-free rail service to Manhattan along with these other benefits:

  • Direct train service from Liberty International Airport Station to New York Penn Station in midtown Manhattan in less than 30 minutes
  • Rail service is also available to Newark-Penn Station, Secaucus Station and many popular destinations in the Northeast corridor including Baltimore, Boston, New Haven, Philadelphia, Providence, Stamford, Washington, D.C. and Wilmington
  • Free monorail service from all terminals to the Rail Link Station in 7-11 minutes
  • Train and ticketing information at the Rail Link Station
  • No need to worry about traffic problems, bridge and tunnel congestion, or the high cost of taxi and car service.

Follow these simple steps to take the train from Newark Liberty International Airport to New York Penn Station:

  • Collect your bags and take the free AirTrain monorail from your airline terminal to the Newark Liberty International Airport Rail Link Station.
  • At the Rail Link Station, observe the schedule display board and buy a ticket for the next train to New York Penn Station. The cost is $15 (NJ Transit) and from $30 (Amtrak), each way. Credit cards are accepted.
  • Trains stop at Newark Penn Station and may also stop at the new Secaucus Station. Stay on board to reach New York Penn Station at the next stop.
  • New York Penn Station is located at 8th Avenue and 31st Street. At this location you can do the following:
    • Obtain a taxi or rent a car.
    • Transfer to Amtrak and Long Island Rail Road trains to other cities.
    • See a Continental agent for flight reservations and ticketing assistance at the Penn Station Continental Ticket Office (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. M-F).

Bus Service between Terminals A and C

Skip security when connecting between Terminals A and C at Newark Liberty International Airport.

Customers connecting to flights between Terminals A and C can now take advantage of convenient bus service* between the terminals. This new service will not only save you time but will eliminate the need to go back through security.

Passengers arriving into Terminal A may board the bus at Gate 28 and connect to domestic or international flights in Terminal C.

Domestic passengers arriving into Terminal C may board the bus near Gate 71 and connect to flights in Terminal A.
