Introduction

Continental Airlines, Inc. is the world's fifth largest airline, providing service to destinations in over 50 countries. As a global enterprise, Continental acknowledges and respects the principles contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights issued by the General Assembly of the United Nations. Continental's Human Rights Policy Statement reflects the company's commitment to conduct its business in a manner consistent with these principles and to protect human rights within the company's sphere of influence. Continental's core values and culture embody a commitment to ethical business practices and good corporate citizenship.

Ethical Business Conduct

This Human Rights Policy Statement reflects the company's broader commitment to ethical business practices, which is embodied in Continental's Ethics and Compliance Guidelines. These guidelines serve as the cornerstone of the company's ethics and compliance program, requiring Continental's Board of Directors, officers and employees to conduct the company's business fairly, honestly and in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, including those protecting human rights. The company has appropriate mechanisms in place to monitor compliance with these guidelines and facilitate reporting of possible violations.

Protection of the Rights of Co-workers

Continental is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing its employees with a non-discriminatory work environment that promotes open and honest communication and embraces dignity, respect and diversity in all aspects of its business operations. Continental further supports the elimination of all forms of forced, bonded or compulsory labor and the freedom of association.

Protection of the Rights of Children

Continental condemns all forms of exploitation of children. The company does not recruit child labor, and supports the elimination of exploitative child labor. Continental also supports laws duly enacted to prevent and punish the crime of sexual exploitation of children and will cooperate with law enforcement authorities in these matters.

Implementation

This Human Rights Policy Statement will be implemented through the company's ethics and compliance program, on which all employees are trained, and will remain posted on continental.com.
