Excess Baggage Embargo

Excess Baggage to/from the following destinations will be accepted as noted below.

During an excess baggage embargo, when no excess baggage is accepted: 1 box, instead of 1 free bag; maximum 50 lbs (23 kg) and 62 linear inches (157 cm) (total length + width + height) will be accepted free of charge. Exception: 1 box is accepted on ExpressJet Airlines, Inc. dba Continental Express destinations to the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico, instead of 1 bag; maximum 50 lbs and 42 linear inches (107 cm).

For economy class travel, baggage exceeding the allowable weight (50 lbs/ 23 kilograms) will be accepted as noted.

Baggage exceeding the allowable size (62" linear inches/ 157 cm)(total length + width + height) will be accepted as noted below.

Note: The following items of sporting equipment will not be accepted during an excess baggage embargo when no excess baggage is allowed: bicycles, hang gliders, pole vaults, surfboards, wakeboards and wind surfers.

Permanent Baggage Embargo

The following cities are not allowed excess baggage at any time:

Winter Excess Baggage Embargo: November 15, 2011 through January 15, 2012

The following cities are limited to 1 excess occurrence (either extra bag for $150 or over- sized bag for $200) for $100, as well as bags that are overweight up to 70 lbs (32kg), for $200 each, and for bags from 71 lbs (32 kg) up to 99.9 lbs (43 kg) for $400 each:
