Northeast - Rain will begin to spread across the region today tonight as an area of low pressure moves up the coast. Some locally heavy rain is possible along the New England Coast tonight and tomorrow before the rain moves out late in the day on Tuesday. Gusty onshore winds ahead of the low will bring some shallow coastal flooding for portions of the Mid-Atlantic Coast.

South - While the area of low pressure moves up the coast and rain spreads into the Northeast, rain will begin to move out of the Southeast today. The exception will be across the Florida Peninsula, where showers and thunderstorms are possible along the tail end of the front moving up the East Coast. Farther west in the Southern Plains, a developing system will bring showers and thunderstorms to the Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley tonight and tomorrow.

Midwest - Showers will persist across portions of the Upper Midwest today and tonight near a nearly stationary frontal boundary. An upper level disturbance, the remnants of a storm that brought heavy rain, mountain snow, and gusty winds to the Pacific Northwest over the weekend will energize the system in the Plains and Mississippi Valley tonight into tomorrow, enhancing rain chances through tomorrow night.

West - Drier weather is expected across the West for the next several days as an upper level ridge begins to build over the region.
