Founded in 1997, LiveTV has combined the best of what we have in travel � the airplane � with the best of what we have in media entertainment � satellite television. In April of 2000, commercial airline passengers watched live television programming in-flight for the first time in history. Since then, countless passengers have enjoyed the same experience.

LiveTV has grown from a small high-tech start-up company into a global operation with hundreds of employees. With such an expansive network, we are able to install our entertainment systems on aircraft and provide customer support on-site.

We are currently looking for a Supervisor Line Maintenance for our JFK, New York airport station. Below is a complete description of the position expectations.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures that all LiveTV maintenance being performed on aircraft is in accordance with the airline�s procedures
    • Directly communicates with the airlines Maintenance Control and Planning departments to address LiveTV related issues
  • Provides direct supervisory support to the line Maintenance Technicians at their assigned station(s)
    • Provides work assignments and job guidance to the line Technicians
    • Assists with technical training to ensure that Teammembers are properly trained on the LiveTV system
    • Monitors work schedules to ensure that the line stations are operating effectively
    • Ensures that all line stations are conducting operations in a safe manner
  • Provides reports as directed by the LiveTV Manager and LiveTV Director of Maintenance
    • Provides system reliability reports, station efficiency reports, manpower assessment reports, as well as other reports
  • Performs maintenance and repair of the LiveTV Systems on a daily basis
    • Ensures that all work performed is in accordance with applicable regulations
    • Covers station maintenance when additional manpower is needed
    • Performs maintenance on aircraft which require thorough system knowledge to perform troubleshooting and repair
  • Ensures methods are in place so that serviceable materials and parts are used for the tasks performed
    • Ensures that regulatory and airline processes are followed so that only airworthy parts are installed by LiveTV Technicians on aircraft
    • Monitors station inventories to ensure accuracy and that correct quantities are on hand
  • Performs other delegated duties as required

Interactions:

  • Supervision Received:
    • Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. Consults with Teamleader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents
  • Supervisory Duties:
    • Trains, assigns work to, and checks work of two (2) or more Teammembers; participates in the decision to hire, fire, and promote Teammembers; does not conduct the same work as Teammembers on a regular basis
  • Teamleader Responsibility:
    • LTV Technician Maintenance
    • LTV Lead Technician Maintenance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required with a minimum of two (2) years of Technical School (four (4) years of aircraft avionics experience is equal to approximately two (2) years Technical School)
  • Two (2) years College or Technical School preferred
  • Two (2) years experience supervising and/or leading a team, preferably in the aviation field
  • Strong technical background preferably in the Aviation Line Maintenance Environment
  • Valid Federal Aviation (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Meets recent experience requirements in accordance with 14 CFR 65.83
  • Federal Communication Commission (FCC) License preferred but not required
  • Willing to travel on a regular basis both domestically and internationally
  • Valid, unrestricted Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States or ability to obtain one
  • Must speak, read and write English fluently
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Must have a positive attitude

  • Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a record that meets our parent company's insurance standards
  • Must pass 10 year background check and drug test
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Teammembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
  • Ability to read, write and speak English coupled with effective communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret both electrical and structural drawings as well as schematics, flow charts, wire lists and diagrams
  • Able to crawl, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop frequently in confined spaces
  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment
  • Strong leadership abilities

Work Environment:

  • Works outdoors on the aircraft ramp side and/or the hangar where loud noises may be experienced
  • Work shifts may vary � flexibility required
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
  • Must be willing to travel on a regular basis both domestically as well as internationally

Physical Effort:

  • Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. (Medium)
