At Agritechnica 2023, we have showcased our expertise under the motto “Our Smart Farming. For your harvest of tomorrow.”

Material-driven solutions: Resilience and flexibility of materials play a crucial role in agriculture. Material combinations comprising elastomers, metal and thermoplastics for hoses, damping elements or drive belts increase productivity, durability and yield.
E/E architecture and telematics: The technological advancement of agricultural machinery requires complex E/E architectures. Continental is quickly bringing the latest technologies to agricultural machinery.
Operating comfort: Multifunctional terminals and displays, agricultural tires with comfortable ride feel, transmission bushings that reduce vibration and noise, robust cab interior surfaces. We make everyday life in agriculture more comfortable.
Intelligent and sustainable solutions: As a development partner for the electrification of agricultural machinery, we develop solutions that focus on the environment with products made from sustainable materials and with soil-friendly tires.
Robotics: Mobile robots and artificial intelligence are entering the agricultural industry. We will be showing our autonomous mobile robot concept that can be used in a modular way, leading to more precise use of resources and reduced workload.

Smart farming is only possible on the basis of a high degree of digitalization. We are convinced that in this decade we will see digitalization in all regions of the world, as well as a leap towards seamless digital processes, automation of mobile machines and sustainability. These developments will only be possible if the agriculture industry finds a way to integrate technology that is already applied in other industries. At Agritechnica 2023, Continental has presented its broad product and service portfolio for the agricultural sector, demonstrating how innovative technology solutions support both farmers and manufacturers in overcoming the challenges of the future. During the first day’s press conference, Executive Board members Christian Kötz and Philip Nelles pointed out the importance of the agricultural business as a strategic, fast-growing segment.

The key topics and highlights presented include intelligent and sustainable product solutions such as the new, herbicide-free weed control system for high-precision agriculture, material-oriented solutions, AI-based systems, sensors and tire technologies – for more sustainability, safety and efficiency on the farm, in the greenhouse and on the field.

Connectivity and cybersecurity for agricultural machinery: Continental’s scalable telematics platform

November 13, 2023 At Agritechnica in Hanover, Continental presented its scalable telematics platform that is designed specifically for equipping mobile machinery for the first time to the agricultural industry. The term scalability refers to a high degree of flexibility. While availing of a common technological platform, customers can choose between the 4G or 5G transmission standards – in different versions – for their agricultural machinery and also have a high degree of freedom when it comes to the required computing power.

Farmers Do Not Feel Sufficiently Prepared for the Transformation of Their Industry

November 09, 2023 Farmers around the world do not feel adequately prepared for the upcoming transition to more efficient and sustainable ways of farming. This is one of the key findings of Continental’s “Agriculture in Transition” study. On behalf of Continental, the market research institute Innofact AG surveyed over 500 farmers in Brazil, Germany, France, Japan and the USA about the challenges they are currently facing and their expectations for the future development of their industry.
