Continental announces new cloud-based hose fabrication solution for hydraulic, industrial hoses

      • Hose Fabrication Ecosystem expands with hydraulic and industrial test bench
      • Patent-pending solution saves customer time and money
      • Modular design for hydraulic and industrial hose assembly testing

FAIRLAWN, OHIO, May 23, 2022 — Technology company Continental recently introduced a new Smart Test Bench technology to enhance hose-build solutions. The technology integrates with Continental’s CrimpIQ crimpers to ensure fabricators can build a quality hose assembly in every application.

The Smart Test Bench uses cloud technology that allows the CrimpCloud and Smart Bench to communicate with each other. This ensures seamless data transfer and safe document storage. Continental’s Test Benches also have a new controller, which is created to provide ease of use and accuracy.“The new Smart Test Bench solutions are another consequent step towards our strategy to build a digital ecosystem. It increases efficiency, accuracy, safety and user friendliness for all our customers,” said Andreas Gerstenberger, head of the Industrial Fluid Solutions global business area. “This expansion to CrimpCloud showcases the evolution of building quality hose assemblies for our distributors and customers.”The user-friendly system features an intuitive touch-screen panel that greatly improves control over testing parameters. In addition, the Smart Test Bench technology offers state-of-the-art reporting in different formats, back up testing data for easy retrieval, and the ability to adapt to a customer’s hydraulic or industrial hose testing needs. Continental’s CrimpCloud technology was launched in 2018 and was created to provide customers with instantaneous updates to the crimper, thereby reducing costly downtime and offering a new level of enhanced efficiency, safety, quality and speed to our customers operations.
