The BEE vehicle concept as a virtual reality experience
Mobility will be relaxing in the future. Visitors to Automechanika will have a chance to experience this for themselves by putting on virtual reality headsets. The BEE vehicle study will let them drive through an imaginary city of tomorrow and go wherever they want without stress. The name is an acronym for Balanced Economy and Ecology, and if it makes you think of bees, that’s intended.
That’s because a BEE is part of a swarm of autonomous e-vehicles. You request it with an app, and after just a few minutes it’s there – with every comfort imaginable and all the necessary information. This smart, connected solution for urban traffic is not only clean, safe and affordable, it’s also very versatile. The virtual trip to the future will demonstrate this.

Continental Grand Prix at the Mechanic Games
This year’s Automechanika will again feature a classic decathlon for workshop professionals and youngsters: the Mechanic Games. One of the events is the Continental Grand Prix on the Carrera race track. Three strong brands will compete against each other in exciting races with Porsche GT-3 models: ATE, VDO and Conti. We look forward to seeing “drivers” who really want to step on the gas!
Presentation: More workshop service through remote access to vehicle data
Maintenance and service will be even easier in the digital workshop of the future, because smart vehicles will report by remote data transmission when a part has to be replaced or repaired. In fact, the future has already begun, as Rolf Mack, head of Diagnostics & Services at Continental Aftermarket GmbH will explain.
