More security, fewer keys – Continental develops Key-as-a-Service solutions for commercial vehicles

Continental will soon offer cloud-based solutions for keyless vehicle access – also for commercial vehicles. The solutions are based on already proven passenger car technology, which Continental has now developed to meet the requirements of the commercial vehicle sector. A smartphone app is used to gain on-demand access to the vehicle – and final authorization to use a truck is granted through the Continental Cloud and a control module in the vehicle. The user can then open, lock and even start the vehicle.
The Key-as-a-Service solutions can be easily retrofitted and are available for light to heavy commercial vehicles across brands and models. They enable transport companies to manage their fleets more efficiently, e.g. when vehicles are handed over between different drivers or when repairs are carried out.

Key as a Service enables users to open their vehicles and even start their engines with a simple command via smartphone.
