Software-Defined Vehicle: Data Center on Wheels

      • End customers expect a mobility solution in form of intelligent IoT devices
      • New solutions in E/E architecture are flexible, secure and future-oriented

Continental is driving forward the comprehensive digitalization of the vehicle. This automotive megatrend is inextricably linked to software. Software solutions already account for around 90 percent of innovations in the automotive industry. In addition to the appropriate software packages, Continental also develops the appropriate infrastructure in the vehicle that is required for the software to run safely and properly. The solution therefore accelerates the development of flexible structures of the E/E architecture, which enables the vehicles to be easily integrated into the IoT as a mobility solution. Continental develops concepts through which the functions of the vehicle can be easily expanded or changed without having to adapt the underlying hardware architecture. By considering the entire ecosystem of mobility, Continental's architectures meet future requirements and ensure seamless integration into the adjacent industries.

With a scalable approach, the entire range of vehicles is covered. Adaptability creates added value for vehicle manufacturers to develop sustainable, energy-efficient and safe vehicle architectures.
