Continental recommends to get involved in the vaccination campaign and agrees with the World Health Organization arguing that vaccines will save millions of lives each year. Vaccines train our immune systems to fight the virus and build protection and are one important way to stop the pandemic. Of course, the decision to choose whether or not to get the vaccine is a voluntary and personal choice.
“I’ve got the chance to be vaccinated against Covid-19 in the Continental vaccination center in Timisoara, being on the national waiting list for about one week. Even if this is for every person a very personal decision which everyone needs to base on its individual perception of benefits and potential adverse reactions, I am personally fully convinced that only vaccination of a large percentage of the population will allow us to combat the pandemic and to get back to our normal life. Mainly I did it, to protect my family and colleagues, to have the chance to visit again my parents without major risk for their health and to make a big step towards normal life”, explained Dr. Christian von Albrichsfeld, Head of Country & General Manager Continental Automotive Romania.
Since the start of the national vaccination campaign, Continental has identified opportunities and solutions to support this process in the communities to which it belongs to. Thus, at the initiative and with the support of our company, at the beginning of March, two new public vaccination centers were opened in Sibiu and Timisoara in close collaboration with the local authorities, as well as other partners.
Continental financed and did the arrangement and equipment of the centers placed inside the Sibiu location, on Salzburg Street no. 8, and close to the automotive location from Timisoara, on Calea Buziasului no. 11. Both centers, that are using (at the moment) Pfizer doses, are integrated in the national vaccination platform, which you can access at the link https://vaccinare-covid.gov.ro/platforma-programare, where you, as well as other citizens, can register and put yourself on the list of your favorite vaccination center, including those mentioned above.
Oswald Kolb, General Manager of Continental Automotive Systems, also chose to be vaccinated and stated that: “On the opening day of the new Continental vaccination center in Sibiu, I dialled the national call-center (021.414.44.25) and asked to be put on the waiting list. Now, after the vaccination, I feel well, it didn't hurt at all. The vaccination process is very fast and efficient. Through vaccination, I protect myself, my family, friends and colleagues. I hope that all people, and especially colleagues, will do the same, in order to overcome this pandemic. "
Many other Continental employees came to the vaccination centers, and the feedback that reached us was positive both on the vaccine registration, as well as the scheduling process and on the organization within the vaccination centers, the vaccine administration and the interaction with the medical staff. The speed of vaccine scheduling differs depending on the number of people that are already on the waiting list, and is linked to the available vaccine doses, and as well to the vaccination capacity of each center – for example, currently 240 daily flows/ in each Continental center. Together we can return to normal!
