Home Plant Phase I – Onboarding & Shopfloor experience
Within the first 6 months, you will become familiar with the main functions of the Manufacturing IT organization, the existing IT systems, their interfaces, and key data flows and the daily operations at one of our tire plants located in your home region, leading up to our high-quality tire products.
Home Plant Phase II - First Projects and International Exposure
Over the following second 6 months, you will gain a deeper understanding of your roles and responsibilities. Starting this phase, you will participate in the Trainee Meeting Week at the central location in Hanover, Germany where you will meet your peers and together receive your first global group assignments.
Central Phase – Group Projects, Field Trips & Activities
During the third phase of your graduate program, you will spend 6 out of 9 months in Hanover alongside other eXplore Trainees from various locations worldwide. This experience will allow you to familiarize yourself with how the global organization is collaboration effectively, further improve your project management skills and build up your own network. Besides this, you will experience teambuilding activities, trips to other Continental locations together with your trainee peers, contribute to strategic and global projects as well as gain insights into our marketing & sales organization to get to know the full value chain of our Tires.
This program offers you the opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge through practical training, pursue your own projects, and build up a broad international network – ideal preparation for a successful entry into the world of IT at Continental.
Having completed the eXplore Tire Manufacturing IT Graduate Program, you will be prepared to take on a variety of different positions at various IT departments.

- An above-average degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, or a similar qualification
- Fluent in English and the language of the country of your employment
- Keen interest in intelligent manufacturing, digitalization, and the Internet of Things
- Committed and reliable; quality- and solution oriented
- An open-minded, ambitious and responsible team player who enjoys working in a multicultural environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- International experience (e.g., internships or studies abroad) or interest in gaining international work experience
- Initial experience with IT projects desirable
