Continental made a decisive contribution to the world record set by Volkswagen’s Mission Efficiency concept vehicle with a specially developed concept tire. During the record-breaking drive, the world’s most efficient near-production electric vehicle consumed just 7.51 kilowatt-hours of electricity per 100 kilometers including charging losses, or 6.89 kWh per 100 km excluding charging losses. The record was officially certified by RID – Rekord-Institut für Deutschland on August 24, 2026, following a 1,278.36-kilometer journey from Wolfsburg to Vienna under real-world conditions, requiring only one additional charging stop.

Continental has received original-equipment approval for the fully electric Volvo EX60. The Continental EcoContact 7 S has been approved in sizes 235/55 R20 for the front axle and 255/50 R20 for the rear axle. Both versions feature an integrated rim protector (FR). This reinforced area on the tire sidewall reduces the risk of rim damage, for example in the event of accidental contact with curbs.

Continental is becoming a global partner of the International Biathlon Union (IBU). Beginning with the 2026/27 season, the partnership will span the IBU World Cup, the IBU World Championships and the Loop One Festival through 2029/30.

Continental has received two new approvals to supply original-equipment tires for Porsche models. The automotive manufacturer has approved both the SportContact 7 and the new SportContact 7 Force for the Panamera G3 II. The SportContact 7 Force is a high-performance addition to Continental’s summer tire line. Porsche also recommends the WinterContact TS 860 S for the Cayenne E4 during the colder months.

Continental has significantly expanded its global portfolio of ultra-high-performance (UHP) tires – tires measuring 18 inches and above – over the past five years and plans to strengthen this segment further in the future. By the end of 2027, the company will add more than 650 new tire sizes across all tire lines, for both original equipment on new cars and the replacement market. By expanding its portfolio, the tire manufacturer is responding to growing demand for high-performance tires designed for larger, heavier and more powerful vehicles, as well as electrified drive systems, while laying the foundation for further profitable growth in this segment.

Continental is expanding its Conti Scandinavia winter tire portfolio with a new 315/60 R 22.5 steering axle tire.

With the ContiMotion EVO, Continental is launching the successor to its popular ContiMotion sport touring tire. 

Continental supplies factory-fitted tires for the new Audi Q3, providing year-round performance in summer heat, autumn rain and winter snow. For its compact SUV model, Audi has granted original-equipment approvals for the EcoContact 6 Q summer tire. The car manufacturer also recommends the ProContact TX10 all-season tire and the WinterContact TS 870 P winter tire. The approvals cover tire sizes from 17 to 20 inches.

Continental has received original-equipment approval for the new Volkswagen ID. Polo. The all-electric compact model will be fitted as standard with Continental’s EcoContact 7 summer tire, after the Wolfsburg-based car manufacturer approved the 17- and 18-inch sizes. Volkswagen also recommends the 18-inch versions of the AllSeasonContact 2 and the WinterContact TS 870 P.
