REACH is the central part of European chemicals legislation. It is the acronym for Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals. All chemicals placed on the EU market must be registered at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki. Some substances have to be authorised or are restricted in use.
If delivered substances, mixtures or finished articles contain substances classified as SVHC (Substance of Very High Concern) (according to Article 57 and 59 of REACH) in concentrations of more than 0.1% they must be communicated to the recipient of the respective goods in accordance with the requirements laid out in Article 31 of REACH.
