REACH Regulation
REACH is a key component of European chemicals regulation. The acronym stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. All chemical substances manufactured in or imported to the EU market must be registered with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki. Certain substances require authorization, while others are subject to restrictions.
If supplied substances or mixtures contain ingredients identified as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) according to Articles 57 and 59 of the REACH Regulation, the requirements of Article 31 (provision of a Safety Data Sheet) must be fulfilled. If supplied articles contain such SVHC in a concentration of more than 0.1 %, the recipient must be informed in accordance with Article 33 of the REACH Regulation.
