Welche Bedeutung hat Autofahren weltweit? Wird individuelle Mobilität zukünftig mehr von rationalen als von emotionalen Beweggründen geleitet? Wollen junge Menschen Autos überhaupt noch besitzen? Wie steht es um die Akzeptanz neuer Technologien wie Elektromobilität, Digitalisierung und automatisiertes Fahren? Dies sind zentrale Fragestellungen der Continental Mobilitätsstudie 2015.
Im Auftrag des internationalen Automobilzulieferers Continental wurden in der zweiten Jahreshälfte 2014 von infas in Deutschland 1.800 und in den USA 2.300 (Nicht-)Autofahrer (repräsentativ) sowie jeweils 400 Fahrzeughalter (qualitativ) in Deutschland, den USA, Frankreich, Japan und China befragt. Interviews mit Experten aus der Automobilindustrie und Forschung ergänzen die Studienergebnisse um die fachliche Betrachtungsweise.

This state-of-the-art tire technology increases the total energy efficiency of a tire by up to 10 percent. The results are lower CO2 emissions from passenger cars with combustion engines and longer driving ranges for electric vehicles.

Continental is using its decades of experience in development and combining it with findings from a variety of practical tests and collaborations to adapt its entire tire portfolio to the specific requirements of drive systems beyond combustion engines. In essence, the aim here is to achieve continuous optimization in terms of safety, efficiency and comfort.
Sustainable technologies in cars make an important contribution to reducing CO2 emissions in passenger transport. But it is not only the electric drive system and the batteries that have to meet high sustainability standards. As customers increasingly turn away from materials of animal origin. Continental’s surface specialists are devoting more and more attention to sustainable, animal-free and recycled or upcycled materials for the interior.
For greater range, fast charging and a longer battery life, a sophisticated thermal management system with several cooling circuits is indispensable. Essential here are special hoses and lines that cool the battery and the extremely sensitive power electronics.
