Hanover, Germany, September 15, 2026. Continental is expanding its Conti Scandinavia winter tire portfolio with a new 315/60 R 22.5 steering axle tire. Developed for demanding winter road conditions, the Conti Scandinavia range is designed to deliver reliable traction on snow, ice and wet roads while maintaining high mileage and efficient rolling performance. To support long-term tire management, the portfolio is complemented by Continental's retread solutions.
Tire Technology Designed for Winter Performance
The Conti Scandinavia tire family has been developed specifically for challenging winter conditions and includes solutions for different axle positions. Optimized tread patterns and winter compounds are engineered to provide traction and handling on snow-covered, icy and wet roads while supporting the durability required for regional and long-haul transport applications. A key feature of the portfolio is Continental's two-layer sipe technology. Designed to support traction, driving stability and handling throughout the tire's service life, the technology helps maintain winter performance while also contributing to mileage and rolling efficiency.
Reliable Traction and Handling
The specially developed tread compounds remain flexible at low temperatures, supporting grip in winter conditions without compromising operational performance. Low noise levels and year-round applicability further enhance the versatility of the range. “Winter tires must deliver reliable traction and handling in challenging road conditions without compromising mileage and operational efficiency.
The Conti Scandinavia portfolio has been developed to meet exactly these requirements, while the new 315/60 R 22.5 steering axle tire further expands the range for our customers,” says Hinnerk Kaiser, Head of Bus and Truck Tire Development at Continental.
New Tire Size Expands the Portfolio
With the introduction of the new 315/60 R 22.5 steering axle tire, Continental is further strengthening its winter offering for commercial vehicles. The additional dimension expands the application range of the Conti Scandinavia portfolio and provides customers with greater flexibility when selecting tire configurations for specific operational requirements.
Retreads Complement Tire Lifecycle Management
In addition to new tires, Continental offers retread solutions that help extend casing utilization as part of a comprehensive tire management approach. By combining premium new tires with retreading, fleet operators can maximize the use of tire assets over a longer period while maintaining the performance requirements of commercial transport operations.
