Continental expects higher earnings in 2026 despite a continued volatile environment, driven by strong growth in the business for 18-inch-plus premium tires, an anticipated decline in the prices of raw materials and a projected recovery in industrial markets in the second half of the year. The company also expects positive effects from the measures taken to improve earnings, particularly in ContiTech. At the same time, the economic environment remains challenging due to ongoing trade barriers, among other factors.

Continental’s group sector ContiTech has commissioned a new gravure printing machine for surfaces used in the furniture industry as well as for building elements. The new system, which required an investment in the mid single-digit million-euro range, is located at the Weissbach plant, which specializes in the so-called LivTec segment. Once it has reached full capacity, the new printing machine is expected to produce more than 75,000 square meters of surface film per day – roughly equivalent to the area of ten soccer fields.
